This fine Spätburgunder from the Kiefer winery comes from vines that stand on loess and volcanic weathered soils in the Kaiserstuhl. The floral fruity red wine shows notes of cherries, raspberries, cassis and also herbal nuances.
Friedrich Kiefer founded the winery named after him in 1851 and ushered in his winemaking success in the Kaiserstuhl region. Since 2008, Helene and Martin continue the success story as owners of the winery Friedrich Kiefer. Soil and climate are decisive for the diversity of grape varieties at Weingut Friedrich Kiefer. The wine-growing climate in Baden is almost Mediterranean, with the highest average temperatures in Germany. The Friedrich Kiefer winery has the best conditions for growing Pinot Noir as well as white grape varieties such as Riesling, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Muscat and many others. The wines from the Kiefer winery have already won several international awards.
