This gin has it all. A handmade spirit that has been completely sugar-free. The recipe for this is based on an original juniper berry recipe for Spiritus Juniperi from the German pharmacopoeia of 1872. Fresh juniper berries and earthy ginseng come together in subtle nuances and complement each other perfectly. Ginseng root is the queen among bitter herbs and can be compared to truffles in terms of high quality. The pleasant depth of this gin is not only felt on the tongue, but also in the throat and stomach. Tastes great neat or as a gin and tonic.
The Jagla family of pharmacists has been making high-proof bitters for decades according to a medieval monastery recipe. The bitter herbs used once grew in monastery gardens and were particularly popular after rich meals. Even in the days of Max Jagla's great-grandparents' colonial goods shop, the elixir enjoyed great popularity among friends, family and customers. To this day, the basis of the bitters from the house of Jagla lies in the Pharmacopoea Germanica, the old German pharmacopoeia. In the meantime, Dr. Christina Jaglas has taken the reins and expanded the selection of elixirs to include some popular Amaro variants and gins.
