The name keeps its promise! Dark Chocolate is a wonderful red wine cuvée of Pinotage, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir. Due to the 12-month ageing in barrique barrels, the wine is already promising on the nose. On the palate, it is soft and harmonious with a rich fruit and wonderful structure. Aromas of red game fruits meet a hint of vanilla and light spices. Well-integrated tannins and a fitting body round off this elaborately produced work of art. Tastes wonderful with a good piece of chocolate, fresh berries and of course with a convivial dinner with friends.
Winegrowing has been practised at the Bietighöfer vineyard in the Southern Palatinate since the 17th century. Tradition, a sensitive and sensible approach to nature and its cycles have always formed the basis of the family business. Now in the sixth generation, Stefan Bietighöfer has taken over the sceptre and, in the meantime, Demeter-certified winery with 40 hectares. The wine style is imbued with courage, good ideas, knowledge and above all good drinking experience. The focus of production is on vineyard work, where the vines and the soil are carefully tended and managed. The fully ripe grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected. All wines are fermented spontaneously. This means that no additional yeasts are added to the must. The wines are fermented and stored in stainless steel tanks or in barrique barrels.
