The must-have for all gin and tonic fans and hobby bartenders. Gin Sul, the first gin distilled in Hamburg, has Portuguese roots. It is lovingly produced in the Altona Spirits Factory. The fine citrus note of the gin comes from the fresh lemons that grow on the rugged Costa Vicentina. In addition to juniper, rosemary, allspice, lavender, cinnamon and cistus are added to the macerate. You can find the Gin Sal bar salt exclusively at Motherland. The natural salt flowers from the Algarve are wonderfully suitable for use in cocktails such as Bloody Mary with gin or gin margaritas. Of course, they are also great for refining dishes. For the perfect gin and tonic, however, you not only need good gin, high-quality tonic, ice cubes and the right garnish, but also an adequate glass! Your gin and tonic tastes best in these two original Gin Sul Premium Copas! The pleasantly large and bulbous glasses should not be missing in any minibar. This special glass shape is reminiscent of a wine glass and is very popular in Portugal for the "perfect serve". Saúde!
The Altona Spirits Manufactory was founded in 2013. Hamburg's small gin manufactory is located between the Phoenix-Hof, the factory and the Thalia Theatre in Gaußstraße. In the twenties, coals were stored here, then cucumbers and bottles after the war, until at some point it became a carpentry workshop. Today, the rooms house Hamburg's first manufactory distillery.
