We all know saplings from our walks in the forest as the pretty light green tips that sprout from the branches of almost all conifers. These saplings are harvested for the sun pine products at the perfect time and by hand on natural fir plantations and gently boiled down with the best organic beet sugar from Germany to a fine, tart-sweet syrup. The taste is reminiscent of Canadian maple syrup or classic beet syrup, but is more tart and slightly more aromatic. The consistency resembles solid honey.
The possible uses in the kitchen are as complex as they are exciting! Whether in a marinade for meat and vegetables, as a sweetener in tea, as a spread, or on pancakes - this fir sweetness is a delicious hit!
